City Biking

It's a gorgeous day today in New York and I'm trying my hand legs in biking to my Manhattan gym from Brooklyn. Yes, I know this in and of itself is not blog worthy but I found the sweetest new site to enable this little adventure: Ride The City.

It's totally awesome. You can type in any two addresses and it will spit out a "bike approved" route. You can choose from 3 options: Safest Route, Safe Route, Most Direct Route. I'm going to try the Safe Route today.

Since the weather is getting nicer and the MTA is about to screw all of us out of our money at the end of the month it just might be a good time to get friendly with the gritty New York streets.

Topless Tuesdays presents Parker Hurley

Another week, another hot model. This week is no different. Feast your eyes on this week's delectable little morsel, Parker Hurley. He's a 22 year old bartender in Philadelphia. You can check out several pictures of him and other hot guys on his MySpace page. He recently got back into modeling and luckily for the rest of the world he did. You can check him out in person at Pure. And if you do happen to stop by tell him we sent you...

Ramblings: Books, Marriage, Republicans - Oh My!

This has been quite the week for noteworthy news. I'm excited by the recent addition of my birth state - Maine - to the short list of marriage equality states last week. I'll be happy for the day when the thought of full marriage equality in all 50 states isn't newsworthy or exciting.

And while I know that many people that are near and dear to me identify with the Republican Party I have to imagine that even the strongest hold-outs have to be shaking their heads right now. What is up with the Republican Party? They spent the better part of last week criticizing attacking President Barack Obama for ordering spicy dijon mustard on his cheeseburger. I understand that you don't like the guy but can you come up with some solutions? Really you have to be desperate when you waste 3 days of airtime on a guy's condiment choice. Sad... very sad.

One of the great things about my new routine in New York is all the reading I can do while on the train. A favorite new author of mine is David Benioff. If you want a good read check out his latest book City of Thieves about an unlikely pair of guys who are sent on an impossible journey to find a dozen eggs in war torn Russia during the siege of Leningrad.

And an impossibly cute gay "YouTube Personalities" collaborative video to combat all the anti-gay bullying taking place online - well worth the 3 minutes of your time.

Topless Tuesdays: Fernando Fernandes

As I was working on this week's Topless Tuesdays, I was briefly reminded why I need to learn Spanish. That was until I remembered that muy caliente Fernando Fernandes is from Brazil and they actually speak Portuguese there. Some guys can never get a break...

But, that is certainly no reason not to appreciate this ex-boxer from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Fernando appeared in Big Brother Brasil: Season 2. He is also a talented athlete who has played futbol with Corinthians and Flamengo de Guarulhos (a team in the third division of the state). This 28 year-old started modeling when he was 20 and has since done a variety of projects.

He's a self-professed mama's boy - which he proudly wears tattooed on his arm "Gracias, madre". While describing himself as deeply religious he doesn't seem to have the same hang-ups that "deeply religious" folks have in America since he regularly poses with other men in sensual shots and has posed nude.

Let's hope he continues his career... for his sake and ours.

Topless Tuesdays: Simon Czaplinski

Well I started out this morning with no clear idea who was going to be featured as this week's Topless Tuesday sizzler. I had a request from some of the new lady viewers for more Latin heat so I started my search this morning for a Brazilian. I thought I was close when I found some moderately sexy pictures of some guy named Iran. Well somehow my search for a Brazilian lead me to a Polish guy from Ilinois. That guy is Simon Czaplinski.

Here's the vitals: 26 years old, 6' tall, wears a size 10 shoe, and is only doing paid assignments at the moment. As with so many of the models these days the rest of his story is still a blur. But you didn't really want to know much more about him, did you? Some of you may recognize Simon from another site where he has a different 6 letter name...

Topless Tuesdays: Max Rhyser

This week's featured model, Max Rhyser, was born and raised in Amsterdam. He is of Danish, American and Isreali lineage. This 26 year old Cancer was born on July 11, 1982.

He signed with Q Management for modeling and CESD for commercial acting. He's appeared in an assortment of shows including My Hero, Razortooth, and A Four Letter Word. In his last role in the film Homeland, Max Rhyser plays Kobi Zucker an Israeli looking to start fresh in New York City who falls in love with a young Palestinian woman.

He now lives in the land of models, Broadway, and exorbitant rent - New York City.

And pay close attention to DyerTimes this week to cast your vote for next week's featured sexy specimen. Voting will begin on Thursday!

News: Prop 8 Update & more...

The California Supreme Court is expected to announce it's decision over the legality of Proposition 8 - the ballot referendum that stripped away marriage equality for same-sex couples in California last November - today at 10 PST.

No one knows exactly how they will rule but based on the comments the justices made during oral arguments most experts believe the court will uphold Prop 8 but will also refuse to nullify the 18,000 marriages that were performed while same-sex marriage was legal in California. Check out Equality California's site to stay up to date as the day progresses.

Events are planned all over the country this evening. Click here to find an event in your area.

In related news, last week Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced that the State Department would soon offer employees in same-sex relationships equal benefits. In the memo provided by the State Department last week Secretary of State Clinton writes: "At bottom, the department will provide these benefits for both opposite-sex and same-sex domestic partners because it is the right thing to do."

And since we are waiting with bated breath for news from California's Supreme Court it is also newsworthy to note that President Obama is expected to announce his choice for the Supreme Court to fill David Souter's upcoming vacancy during an announcement at 10:15 EST at the White House. He is expected to nominate Judge Sonia Sotomayor of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
