President Obama Celebrates LGBT Pride Month
THE WHITE HOUSE
Office of the Press Secretary

For Immediate Release June 1, 2009
LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, AND TRANSGENDER PRIDE MONTH, 2009

BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
A PROCLAMATION
Forty years ago, patrons and supporters of the Stonewall Inn in New York City resisted police harassment that had become all too common for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community. Out of this resistance, the LGBT rights movement in America was born. During LGBT Pride Month, we commemorate the events of June 1969 and commit to achieving equal justice under law for LGBT Americans.
LGBT Americans have made, and continue to make, great and lasting contributions that continue to strengthen the fabric of American society. There are many well-respected LGBT leaders in all professional fields, including the arts and business communities. LGBT Americans also mobilized the Nation to respond to the domestic HIV/AIDS epidemic and have played a vital role in broadening this country's response to the HIV pandemic.
Due in no small part to the determination and dedication of the LGBT rights movement, more LGBT Americans are living their lives openly today than ever before. I am proud to be the first President to appoint openly LGBT candidates to Senate-confirmed positions in the first 100 days of an Administration. These individuals embody the best qualities we seek in public servants, and across my Administration -- in both the White House and the Federal agencies -- openly LGBT employees are doing their jobs with distinction and professionalism.
The LGBT rights movement has achieved great progress, but there is more work to be done. LGBT youth should feel safe to learn without the fear of harassment, and LGBT families and seniors should be allowed to live their lives with dignity and respect.
My Administration has partnered with the LGBT community to advance a wide range of initiatives. At the international level, I have joined efforts at the United Nations to decriminalize homosexuality around the world. Here at home, I continue to support measures to bring the full spectrum of equal rights to LGBT Americans. These measures include enhancing hate crimes laws, supporting civil unions and Federal rights for LGBT couples, outlawing discrimination in the workplace, ensuring adoption rights, and ending the existing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy in a way that strengthens our Armed Forces and our national security. We must also commit ourselves to fighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic by both reducing the number of HIV infections and providing care and support services to people living with HIV/AIDS across the United States.
These issues affect not only the LGBT community, but also our entire Nation. As long as the promise of equality for all remains unfulfilled, all Americans are affected. If we can work together to advance the principles upon which our Nation was founded, every American will benefit. During LGBT Pride Month, I call upon the LGBT community, the Congress, and the American people to work together to promote equal rights for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2009 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month. I call upon the people of the United States to turn back discrimination and prejudice everywhere it exists.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this first day of June, in the year of our Lord two thousand nine, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-third.
Topless Tuesdays: Choi Ho Jin

This week's model comes to us from Seoul, South Korea. I thought it would be a nice switch to talk about something hot from South Korea instead of their nuclear-inclined neighbors - North Korea.
Choi Ho Jin started modeling in 2006 after being encouraged by his family to shoot and submit a portfolio. He was successful at landing several big projects including DKNY underwear and the cover of Men's Health magazine - among other projects. He has also done numerous runway shows.
Standing at only 5'9" he's not quite tall enough to do runway shows but he's certainly got the face and body to continue to produce dynamite photos. Choi is currently trying to branch out and is getting into acting.
I'll be keeping an eye out for him on the silver screen. Enjoy!

Oooh La La - Singing sans clothes in Paris!
You just gotta love the French, right? I came across this super sexy video by Algerian born French indie pop singer Reead the other day. Can you really go wrong with 3 naked men walking down the streets of Paris?
But if the gratuitous pecs and abs aren't your thing than perhaps you'd prefer the original video that Reead was apparently inspired by.
So who done it better?
Videos may be NSFW but all the "naughty" parts are covered by boxes.
Topless Tuesdays: Radoslav Vanko

Thank god for Slovakia! Featured this week is 26 year-old "Boy-of-the-Moment" Radoslav Vanko. I'm hoping his "moment" lasts until roughly 2011 - at least. Rado is represented by 301 Models based in Miami.
You can see Rado in a glossy spread in DNA this month. He's done work for Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, Pierre Cardin, Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Prada. Though I haven't been able to confirm this allegedly Rado is living and working in Taiwan - where he is wildly popular.
It's safe to assume that we'll see this 6'1" demi-god again - and again - and again. That's if all of you have begged for forgiveness...

Bird on a mission attacks pedestrians
This video is hilarious and a great way to begin your day with a laugh. But, does it smell like some type of hoax to you?
Do You Belong in NYC?
As I thought - I do really belong in NYC. Waste some of your day to see if you too - belong - or if maybe you should head back home to Iowa or New Jersey.
DO YOU BELONG IN NYC?
Absolutely.
You would never dream of moving anywhere else, and we've insulted you by even suggesting you might leave. You love every single thing about this town, right down to its adorable water-bug infestation. Click here for suggestions about how to really enjoy NYC.
Do you belong in New York City?
Topless Wednesdays: JP Calderon

So yours truly found himself so busy this morning that it was impossible to post Topless Tuesdays. So, I thought, "Well Topless Wednesdays might be just as good!"
No worries, Topless Wednesdays doesn't have the same ring to it as Topless Tuesdays. Anyways, our featured Topless Tuesdays Wednesdays model is John Paul "JP" Calderon. All of you reality television viewers will recognize his flawless mug from Survivor: Cook Islands.
JP was born on September 5, 1975 which makes him a 33 year-old Virgo - and my new boyfriend. He grew up in Santa Monica, CA and is of Costa Rican descent. JP was a professional volleyball player before he started his modeling/acting career. He got his break into modeling after Survivor when he appeared on several seasons of The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency.
He's appeared on the cover of two gay publications - Instinct and Tetu. For his interview with Instinct he came out as openly gay.
Here's what he said in that interview:
"All of my fears, everything that I was scared of ... it was the complete the opposite." "It's been great. All of my friends, the volleyball world, absolutely everybody has been supportive. No one has shut me out."
Congrats JP! And for all of you eligible guys looking for a date - the line begins behind me. Enjoy!

The NY Post
Yesterday they were giving away free New York Post newspapers all across the city. Naturally I took one as I never usually read the NY Post. I quickly realized why. That newspaper sucks! It must be written by right-wing skinheads like the guy who shot up the Holocaust Museum a few weeks ago.
I feel really bad for anyone that uses that as their source of news. Terrible, terrible, terrible.
Topless Tuesdays: David McIntosh

It's a bird, it's a plane! No, that's just Tornado! Meet David McIntosh - one of the handful of sizzling hot stars of the cast of Gladiators - who some of you might know better as Tornado.
This 22 year old joust master has been a Royal Marines Commando since the age of 16. He's served in Afghanistan, Northern Ireland, Somalia and the Persian Gulf. He is currently on a break for Gladiators and expects to return to Afghanistan when filming is complete. Tornado is a member of the Commando Display Team and is a Marines middleweight boxing champion.
If you haven't seen him on Gladiators it's certainly worth the 30 minutes of your life. Enjoy!

Topless Tuesdays: Daniel Oliveri

Here at DyerTimes we have featured models from all sorts of backgrounds. From the high school biology teacher that accidently falls into modeling to the high scoring soccer pro that is just hotter than most models anyways, but I believe this will be our first former ice hockey pro to be featured. I bring you - Daniel Oliveri!
He stands at 6'2" and weighs in at a meager 190 pounds. Imagine how big his skates are with his whopping 11.5 shoe size. Daniel is 24 years old and lives in New York City. He's currently represented by Wilhemina Models.
Who would have known that ice hockey could produce a hottie like this? I'll have to reconsider my Wayne Gretzky image of that sport from now on. Enjoy!
