The Latest "Juvenile" McCain Ads

It may be just me but I am baffled at how terrible the McCain campaign has been these last several weeks. I used to just not like John McCain because I thought he was a pretend "maverick" that sucked on most of the issues that I care about. Now, I've grown so disgusted by him that seeing him makes me puke a little in my mouth. Does this guy even have any policies?

Which brings me to the McCain camps last two attack ads on Barack Obama. First we had the Britney Spears/Paris Hilton ad that praised Obama for being the worlds biggest celebrity and chided him for not supporting off shore drilling. Now "Juvenile" McCain has released another web ad that compares Obama to Moses.

I can't begin to tell you how absolutely angry this whole political process has made me. I am pissed that virtually every outlet in the MSM (that's mainstream media, btw) has given John "Juvenile" McCain the easy ride. How come Obama gets called presumptuous for doing what EVERY single candidate before him has done? He starts planning for a White House transition - which Bush & Kerry both did in 2004 at this time - and he's not congratulated for being prepared he's called arrogant and presumptuous. I might be going out on a limb here but might that be because he's a relatively young, black man? And for those of you "conservatives" that might be reading this blog and think - "See those liberals all think everyone is racist!" - step back and look at how this has played out against Barack thus far.

They question his patriotism, they question the validity of his birth certificate, they call him Muslim (not in an attempt to classify his religion but to associate him with "those" types of Muslims), they call him elitist, they call him presumptuous, they call him "the chosen one".

How can anyone come to any other conclusion? Perhaps after 8 years of Bush we've grown accustomed to setting the bar really, really low and anything above that is considered arrogant, elitist or presumptuous.

Anyways, it's been disappointing to not see a higher caliber out of this election. And, while these McCain ads are humorous (mostly because they are terrible) it's a shame that the candidates McCain campaign is not talking about issues that actually matter. Like the economy, health care, and the war.
