Topless Tuesdays: JAKE SHEARS

Fresh off the release of their latest album, Night Work, this week's featured morsel is none other than lead singer for the Scissor Sisters - Jake Shears.

Jake, who's real name is Jason Sellards, was born on October 3, 1978 in Arizona. He grew up just outside of Seattle and attended Occidental College in Los Angeles before moving to New York City. Before forming the Scissor Sisters he wrote for HX and Paper magazine while making extra money as a go-go dancer.

He and bandmate Scott Hoffman - known by fans as Babydaddy - formed the Scissor Sisters in 2001 as a crazy performance art group playing several electroclash shows in Williamsburg. It wasn't until years later that the Scissor Sisters started to find success in the UK and Ireland.
