NEWS: Channing Tatum, The McCain's, Prop 8 Trial and Gay Litmus Tests

Both Cindy McCain and Meghan McCain have thrown their support behind the pro-same sex marriage NOH8 campaign. That leaves Sen. John McCain the odd man out in that family.
How do you know when he's gay or not? Check out Gawker's Litmus Test for some insightful help...
Remember Stephen Gately? The lead singer of Boyzone. He was the first boy band member to come out of the closet. He died unexpectedly last year (it may have been a threesome that killed him, or not) and his band mates have recently released a video in his honor. Check it out.
Channing Tatum wants to star in a movie about his stripper past. He wants "Bronson" director, Nicolas Refn, to lead the project.
The Federal Prop 8 Trial is heating up. So far I have been impressed by Attorneys Ted Olson and David Boies. They have brought an impressive group of witnesses to the stand. Lots of sources to follow but the Courage Campaign is quite impressive in their coverage.

The upcoming Harvey Milk biopic directed by gay filmmaker Gus van Sant is expected out in November. Towleroad just posted an exclusive preview of the one-sheet.
The cast includes Sean Penn - as Milk - along with Josh Brolin, Emile Hirsch, and James Franco. It looks amazing!

The Ghost of Richard Nixon - produced by HeadzUp - asks the candidates about the limits of presidential power.
Matthew John Chilelli from Studio City, CA wants to know why the candidates don't support legal recognition for same-sex couples. This video is very nicely done.

HIV RATES ON THE RISE FOR GAY NYC MEN: A recent study has shown an very alarming trend in HIV rates for young gay and bisexual men in NYC. The reports shows that "over the past six years, the total number of new HIV diagnoses among gay men under 30 has risen 33%." The report shows that gay/bisexual men over 30 showed a decrease in HIV rates by 22.2%. AMERICAN EAGLE SUPPORTING HOMOPHOBIC ADS?: A new ad campaign by American Eagle, It's a Mall World, has caught the ire of many LGBT activists. The ads - which can be seen on the AE website and shown during MTV's The Real World: Sydney - feature a "stereotypical gay man" in a recent episode. Check out the video and decide for yourself. Some say it's shameful and others say it is no different than Perez Hilton or William Sledd (who both got shows for their apparent gay personalities).
